As you are well aware, a horrific massacre took place in an elementary school in Newtown, CT. Words fail me at this point. My heart breaks to hear the news. I cannot even imagine the pain several mothers and fathers are feeling right now as they have look at the empty beds of their children.
I don’t have much to say except to state the obvious:
- God is still good
- Jesus still loves our world
- Evil exist
- The world is fallen, radically fallen
- We must love
- Jesus is coming back
- God will judge the wicked
- Resurrection is a promise
I do want to encourage you in this: please love your children tonight. Hold them a little closer. Reach out to them. Show them love. They are a blessing.
Dr. Russell Moore said:
….let’s remember that Bethlehem was an act of war. Let’s remember that the One born there is a prince of peace who will crush the skull of the ancient murderer of Eden. Let’s pray for the Second Coming of Mary’s son. And, as we sing our Christmas carols, let’s look into the slitted eyes of Satan as we promise him the threat of his coming crushed skull.
One day, Evil will be crushed. The Warrior Messiah will come and conquer the dragon that preys on the weak, lowly, the humble. As we look unto that day remember that Jesus promises that He will remain with us. This promise is true, even though it appears that He is not involved. He is because He is good.
