Family Time

One of our greatest desires is to see families grow together in the knowledge and truth of Scripture. We encourage all families irrespective of size or make up to study the weekly passage and discuss it together. When led by dad, mom or both, this time together can foster a great time of conversation, family intimacy and provide a forum to find a practical application of the Bible passage for your family and individually.

Each week a list of relevant and thematic questions directly related to the passage is provided as a starting point for your family’s Life Group or Personal Study time and our weekly memory verse.

Reading plan for this week:

Read James 4:1-12

Your Family/Personal Study Questions for this Week:

  1. Why do people fight over issues at church?
  2. What are some reasons that Christians don’t get along with each other?
  3. What are the wrong motives for prayer? With what motives should we pray?
  4. What does “friendship with this world” mean?
  5. What is the connection between our relationship with God and our relationship with people?
  6. Why is it impossible to be a friend of the world and a friend of God at the same time?
  7. How might jealousy and friendship with the world occur even in a church?
  8. What is involved in humbling yourself before God?
  9. Where have you sensed the devil’s strongest attacks in your life recently? How can you resist him?
